e.leaven Food Company Accessibility Statement
General Information
We have worked to include a number of features to make this site as accessible as possible to all of our visitors. These features should work with assistive technologies to help make our site usable to the broadest possible audience. If you need more help with the site, please send us an email from the Contact Us page. We also provide a link to this page at bottom of every page on the site.
Specific Tips
If you use the JAWS screen reader, be aware that JAWS is designed to work best with Internet Explorer. If you are using JAWS with another browser, JAWS may not be able to use all of the accessibility features on this site.
- Access Keys
- All pages on this site use the following Access keys for common tasks:
-
- 1 — Home Page
- 2 — Skip to Content
- 3 — About Us
- 4 — Coaching
- 5 — Offerings
- 6 — Information Request
- 7 — Contact Us
- 8 — Site Map
- 0 — Accessibility
- Most web browsers support linking to specific pages by typing named access keys:
-
- Windows users
- Mozilla Firefox and Netscape: Press ALT and an Access key.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer: Press ALT and an Access key and ENTER
- Macintosh users: Press CONTROL + an access key.
- Windows users
- The top navigation common to all pages contains a ‘Skip to Content’ link for visitors using speech browsers or keyboard navigation who want to avoid repeated listings of links.
- Visual Design
- This site Cascading Style Sheets or CSS. A stylesheet tells the browser how to display our content to you, from the size and color of the fonts to what images are shown on the page. Some browsers let you turn off stylesheets, while other older or text-only browsers do not use these at all. All graphics content on our site has text equivalents, so your viewing experience will only be affected slightly by not using stylesheets.
- Text Size
- You can change the size of the text from your browser to make it larger or smaller. See your browser help to learn about this, or use our instructions below for your browser:
-
Internet Explorer
- Go to the menu bar and click View

- Tab Order
- This website is arranged so that you may tab between navigation elements, links, and form fields quickly and logically without using your mouse.
- Links
- Certain links have TITLE attributes set to describe the target in greater detail. If you are using a screenreader or other technology, set your screen reader options to take full advantage of this feature.
- Images
- Any image used in this site includes a descriptive ALT attribute except for purely decorative images.
- Acronyms and Abbreviations
- Browsers supporting the acronym and abbreviation tags will show a fine dotted underline beneath these items in the content.
- Place your pointer over an acronym or abbreviation for a moment, and you will see a tip window appear with an expanded version. Additionally, you may have these versions read to you if you are using a screenreader. Internet Explorer only shows the popup for acronyms, however.
- An example of an acronym would be JAWS; an example of an abbreviation is CSS.
- We provide descriptions for the first appearence of the acronym or abbreviation on the page unless we provide an expanded version right before (e.g., “Cascading Stylesheets, or CSS”). We will provide additional acronym or abbreviation explanations if the word or phrase is uncommon. Additionally, we also provide abbreviation explanations if the text would flow better if read aloud with the abbreviations fully expanded.
- Form Validation
- If you make an error while entering information into our Contact form, we will not clear the form once you click “Submit”. Instead, the form will retain your entered data so you do not have to re-enter anything except for corrections. Furthermore, since we verify and process all of your information on the server, you do not need Javascript enabled to benefit from this feature.
- Flash
- This site does not make use of Flash at this time.
- Tables
- Where we use tables, we make use of the SUMMARY and CAPTION attributes to help describe the contents, and we’ve attempted to build our table to respond to common screen reader navigation functions.
- Guidelines
- In the development of this site, we followed the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to provide a Level 2 standard of accessibility. We have applied guidelines based on a combination of best practice recommendations in the field of web accessibility, web accessibility tools, and common sense.
- All pages comply with the specifications described as the W3C HTML 4.01 Strict document type. In addition, all of our stylesheets comply with the guidelines for CSS 2. Finally, we have a P3P privacy policy in place which gives the user full control over their information as well as providing avenues for dispute resolution should the need arise. While the P3P Policy is specifically for the browser, you may view the same information in the e.leaven Food Company Privacy Policy.
